Cap Pouches

Usually carried on the right hip and attached to the waist belt, the cap pouch held the priming system for Civil War rifles, muskets and carbines. We offer three different styles that were used during the conflict.

This shield front design is an older design than our standard cap pouch. Though government patterns had replaced this style before the war, many saw service with Federal and Confederate forces. There is a wool retainer inside as well as a loop for the nipple pick, which is included.

Our reproduction is patterend from our original. See both side by side in the View Originals page.
